The Fifth Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Foreign Ministers' Meeting released The Joint Press Communique of the Fifth Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers' Meeting, and adopted The Three-Year Plan of Action on Lancang-Mekong Agricultural Cooperation (2020-2022) on Feb. 20th, 2020 in Vientiane, capital of Laos.

 

The Plan of Action was jointly formulated by the competent agricultural departments of six LMC member countries, including China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. It aims to implement The Five-Year Plan of Action on Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (2018-2022) adopted at the Second LMC Leaders’ Meeting, and further enhance agricultural cooperation in the subregion.

 

Under the Plan of Action, leveraging the role of liaison, coordination and technological support of the Lancang-Mekong Agricultural Cooperation Center led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, LMC member countries will prioritize cooperation on agricultural policy dialogue, agricultural industry development, agricultural trade and agricultural investment by private sector, capacity building and knowledge sharing to step up agricultural cooperation in the subregion in the next three years.
