Yu Xinrong Meets Brunei’s Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism

Yu Xinrong, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, met with Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali Bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism of Brunei Darussalam on Dec. 17 in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on the establishment of the China-Brunei Agriculture and Fishery Working Group and the promotion of agricultural and fishery cooperation between the two countries.  

  

Yu pointed out that the two countries have established good cooperative relations under the framework of multilateral and bilateral agricultural cooperation mechanisms, and have carried out a series of cooperative projects in the areas of hybrid rice, fishery, and agricultural science and technology. Yu added that China is willing to support Chinese companies to step up investment in Brunei and suggested the two sides establish an agriculture and fishery working group. He also expressed the hope that Brunei will continue to provide a favorable investment environment for Chinese companies. 

  

The Bruneian minister agreed with Vice Minister Yus proposal and expressed his admiration for Chinas achievements in agricultural and rural development. He also expressed his willingness to strengthen further cooperation with China in hybrid rice, fishery, investment and trade. He said that Brunei will continue to support Chinese companies to make their investment in the country.
