MOA Chief Agronomist Sun Zhonghua meets Mexican SENASICA Director in Chief Enrique Sánchez Cruz

MOA Chief Agronomist Sun Zhonghua met with Dr. Enrique Sánchez Cruz, Director in Chief of the National Service for Animal and Plant Health, Food Safety and Quality (SENASICA) of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA) of Mexico, in Beijing on the morning of 24 August 2017.

 

Mr. Sun spoke highly of China-Mexico agricultural cooperation and expressed his appreciation of the achievements of bilateral cooperation in agricultural trade and science and technology.

 

To enhance cooperation, Mr. Sun put forward the following proposals:

 

Firstly, continuing capitalizing on bilateral agricultural cooperation mechanisms and strengthening bilateral exchanges to enrich the existing cooperation;

 

Secondly, promoting fisheries cooperation by facilitating the establishment of China-Mexico fisheries research cooperation center and conducting joint research programs;

 

Thirdly, deepening mutually beneficial cooperation in agricultural science and technology, such as germplasm exchanges and research, development and promotion of advanced and applied modern agricultural technologies;

 

Fourthly, intensifying cooperation in agricultural trade and investment and creating sound environment for agri-businesses of both sides to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.

 

Dr. Sánchez recognized the fruitful outcomes of bilateral agricultural cooperation. He fully agreed with Mr. Sun and said that Mexico is willing to work with China to improve pragmatic agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
