Vice Minister Qu Dongyu meets Kyrgyz counterpart

Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met Mr. Erkinbek Choduev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Melioration of the Kyrgyz Republic, in Beijing on the morning of 14 March 2017. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in agriculture.

 

Vice Minister Qu noted that China and Kyrgyzstan are friendly neighbors, and both are important countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt. Closer cooperation in agriculture is beneficial to the agricultural development of both countries and food security of the entire region.

 

Bilateral agricultural cooperation has been progressing smoothly in recent years, with great potential to be unlocked in new agricultural technology, transboundary animal disease control and agricultural trade and investment. Vice Minister Qu hoped that the Kyrgyz side could create a favorable investment and trade environment. Vice Minister Qu also suggested that the two sides increase exchanges on trade facilitation and encourage enterprises of the two countries to cooperate in agricultural investment.

 

Deputy Minister Erkinbek Choduev agreed with Vice Minister Qu and spoke highly of China's assistance and support in agriculture development in Kyrgyzstan.
