Vitamex takes 80% stake of Preconex SP

Premix manufacturer Vitamex, a subsidiary of Cehave Landbouwbelang in the Netherlands, will take over 80% of the shares of Belgium-based Preconex SP.

The remaining 20% will stay with managing director and former owner of Preconex, Filip Thyssen. This acquisition, effective January 25, will allow Vitamex to strengthen its position in markets where Preconex is well presented.

Preconex is a premix and concentrate producer which exports its products to more than 20 countries. Preconex has a concentrate plant located in Willebroek, Belgium, in a unique location excellent for exporting concentrates at low logistic costs.

Patrick Keereman, CEO Vitamex, said the acquisition of Preconex fits into the company strategy of creating a presence in developing and emerging markets.

With the takeover, Vitamex looks to participate in the further development of those markets by supplying them not only concentrates, but in the near future also speciality products that add value to feedstuffs production.
