CNPC attends Forum on Climate Change and Science & Technology Innovation

    On April 24, a delegation headed by CNPC vice president Wang Yilin attended the Forum on Climate Change and Science & Technology Innovation, which was jointly hosted by ten ministries and administrations including Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Environmental Protection and United Nations Development Program, and co-organized by the Danish government, CNPC and four other organizations. The theme of the forum is "Addressing Climate Change by Science and Technology".

On behalf of CNPC, Mr. Wang Yilin delivered a speech at the dinner party in the Great Hall of the People, briefing on CNPC's endeavor in the emission management of greenhouse gases. He said that as a responsible corporation which manages itself from the viewpoint of sustainable development, CNCP strives to control and reduce greenhouse gases via implementing strategies of energy saving and emission reduction, technological innovation as well as development of low carbon and new energies.

CNPC donated RMB 300 million in 2007, to establish China Green Carbon Fund collaboratively with State Forestry Administration and China Green Foundation. CNPC has always been actively engaged in subsidizing international cooperation in academic activities and will continue to do so in the future.
