On August 29, with the witness of Chinese President Hu Jintao and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov, a framework agreement on expanding cooperation in natural gas sector was signed between CNPC and Turkmengaz StateConcern in Ashgabat, capital of Turkmenistan.

According to the agreement, oil companies of the two countries shall further reinforce their cooperation based on current achievements in order to boost natural gas supplyto China.

On the same day, a technicalagreement above the sale-and-purchase agreement was signed between CNPC and TurkmengazState Concern.
