Zhang Taolin Meets South African Official

Zhang Taolin, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, met Zwelivelile, Chairman of the Portfolio Committee on Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development of the Parliament of South Africa, in Beijing on Nov. 26. They exchanged their views on strengthening agricultural cooperation between China and South Africa. 

  

Zhang extended his warm welcome to Zwelivelile, briefed him on China's agricultural and rural development policies, and answered questions concerning agricultural finance, farmland water conservancy, and agricultural product export. He said cooperation between China and South Africa owns advantaged dominance, and China is willing to share its experience in agricultural development and rural reform with South Africa in order to reach prosperous development in agriculture and rural areas and truly benefit the peoples of the two countries. 

  

Zwelivelile expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm reception. He said South Africa is rich in natural resources, but still faces a lot of difficulties in agricultural development. It is his hope that South Africa is ready to strengthen its cooperation with China in agricultural technology extension, capacity building and poverty alleviation so as to facilitate the enhancement of agricultural modernization process.
