Zhang Taolin Attends 5th Sino-German Agricultural Dialogue and Exchange

Zhang Taolin, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Hans-Joachim Fuchtel, Parliamentary State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, jointly attended the 5th Sino-German Agricultural Dialogue and Exchange on Nov. 19 and respectively addressed the meeting. 

  

Zhang said that as concrete measures of implementing the agricultural cooperation agreement by the heads of China and Germany, the German-Chinese Agricultural Center (DCZ) was officially launched in 2015. Since its’ operation over the past few years, the DCZ has served as a core platform for carrying out dialogue on agricultural policies, promoting exchanges and cooperation between enterprises, enhancing the demonstration and extension of agricultural technologies, and helping farmers with training and vocational education. He expressed hope that Chinese and German agricultural departments would continue to rely on the DCZ in order to deepen pragmatic cooperation, strengthen innovation and cooperation, and jointly promote mutual benefits and cooperation, so as to create a win-win situation in agricultural development between the two countries.  

  

Fuchtel in his remarks expressed his appreciation for China's efforts in continuously advancing agricultural opening-up. He agreed with Zhang's comments and suggestions regarding agricultural cooperation between the two countries and expressed Germanys willingness to further consolidate and expand agricultural cooperation with China in various areas. 

  

Prior to the Dialogue and Exchange, Zhang and Fuchtel held bilateral talks and exchanged their opinions on further strengthening Sino-German agricultural cooperation and developing the DCZ.
