Han Changfu Meets with Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam

Han Changfu, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, met with Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, in Hanoi on October 14. The two sides exchanged in-depth their views on further strengthening agricultural and fishery cooperation between the two countries. Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo also attended the meeting. 

  

Han briefly reviewed the progress of cooperation between the two countries in the areas of agriculture and fishery and gave a positive evaluation on the two sides’ cooperation. Han indicated that agricultural and fishery cooperation between the two sides enjoys huge potential and broad prospects. He said China welcomes the export of high-quality agricultural products from Vietnam and encourages and supports the competent enterprises from both sides to conduct the cooperation of agricultural investment. He said China is willing to work with Vietnam to improve fishery cooperation mechanisms and deepen cooperation in such fields as agricultural science and technology, personnel training, agricultural product processing, integration development of agriculture, rural governance, and rural policy exchange. 

  

Nguyen Xuan Cuong agreed with Han and thanked the Chinese side for its pragmatic measures in deepening agricultural cooperation between the two countries. He also expressed his willingness to strengthen exchanges with China and continue to raise cooperation to a new level. 

  

During his trip to Vietnam, Han also attended the International Symposium on the Production and Marketing of Chinese and Vietnamese Tea and Coffee. Besides, he visited Chinese-invested agricultural companies in the country to know about their investment and development status, and helped find solutions to specific difficulties and problems while visiting onsite.
