Kcomber hosted First International Artificial Intelligence (Agrotech) Seminar

On March 6, 2018, Kcomber successfully held the First International Artificial Intelligence (Agrotech) Seminar in Leshan City, China. The event was divided into two parts. In the first part, AI research experts from Kcomber’s brand Yonoop as well as Chinese governmental officials and professors have presented the newest results in crop protection image recognition and pathology. The second part was an academic discussion about the presented topics.



 


Besides the Chairman Wu Zhonghui, Vice General Manager Xie Zhongbo, and deputy general Manager Cheng Hongshan from Kcomber, government officials from the technological and agricultural bureaus of Leshan City as well as officials from committees of the High-tech industrial Development Zone in Leshan City took part. The seminar hosted a great amount of highly skilled experts in the fields of AI and aggrotech, including Dr. Ben Goertzel, a pioneer in the research and application of artificial intelligence as well as the Chief Scientist of CCM’s Agricultural Technology Research Institute. 


Dr. Goertzel has introduced the progress of AI image recognition of Kcomber’s brand Yonoop, after the general idea and the purpose was outlined by Mr. Wu. He talked about the deep learning algorithm and explained the algorithm to identify user images and set them into known categories automatically.




 


After this, Professor Peng Yunliang from the Sichuan Agricultural University and Crop Protection Institute of Agricultural Science, has introduced the latest research methods of pathology in China. After the presentations, the seminar went on in the second part with several academic discussions among all participants. The engaging conversations have been around comparisons of methods of image acquisition, agricultural disease and pest image processing and AI recognition as well as methods of research object selectin and processing on agricultural economy and biological diversity. 


The event was a full success, as all participants got new impressions on the opportunities of crop pest and disease image recognition and the development of AI technology in the agricultural sector.
