Hubei Sanonda is relatively competitive in glyphosate market. Though some glyphosate production lines in China suspended production in the past 3 months due to the sharp price drop and gloomy market, Hubei Sanonda’s glyphosate production line runs well, and the expanded 15,000 t/a production lines started trial production on time. ‘Hubei Sanonda has established good relationships with overseas customers, and the company is endeavoring to develop new customers. Only competitive glyphosate producers can survive in the gloomy price and market,’ a vice general manager in Hubei Sanonda says.
 
Hubei Sanonda, mainly specialized in the production and marketing of pesticides, chemicals and pharmaceuticals and provides relevant services, is a listed company held by China National Chemical Corporation. In the first 3 quarters of 2008, Hubei Sanonda (gained net profit of USD19.96 million (RMB136.33 million), up 427.57% year on year. Net profit in Q3 increased by 15.13% over the previous quarter. Many other domestic glyphosate producers’ financial performance in Q3 was not so good as that in Q2 2008.
