Minister Han Changfu met with Mr. Abdelkader Bouazghi, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, in Beijing on 21 Sept. 2017. The two sides exchanged views on deepening bilateral agricultural cooperation.　

Minister Han extended a warm welcome to Abdelkader Bouazghi for his visit to China and participation in the 15th China International Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF). Minister Han noted that the traditional friendship and the commitment of China and Algeria to agricultural development have laid a solid foundation for future cooperation in agriculture.　

Minister Han proposed that the two sides enhance cooperation in agricultural investment, trade, S&T, aquaculture, agro-processing and human resources development, among others, to promote agricultural development of both countries.

Abdelkader Bouazghi thanked China for its invitation and hospitality. He agreed with Minister Han and expressed that Algeria is eager to strengthen agricultural cooperation with China, particularly in boosting China’s investment and introducing its technology to promote agricultural development and food security in Algeria.

After the meeting, the two sides initialized the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria on Animal Health and Quarantine and the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria on Plant Protection and Quarantine.
