MOA Senior Advisor (Vice-minister level) and President of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) Tang Huajun attended the China-Arab States Agricultural Cooperation Forum 2017 and the China-Arab States Modern Agriculture Expo & China (Ningxia) Horticulture Exhibition in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from September 4 to 7, 2017.

In his keynote speech on advancing pragmatic agricultural cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiativeat the opening ceremony of the forum, Tang put forward a four-point proposal to boost sustainable agricultural partnership between China and the Arab States: strengthen agricultural S&T cooperation; promote agricultural trade; facilitate investment cooperation; improve cooperation mechanism.

As a side event of the forum, Tang also paid a field visit to the Ningxia Academy of Agricultural Sciences and got informed of the latest progress of rice and corn breeding and soil improvement researches.
