Premex acquires BASF's Colombian animal nutrition business

Premex S.A. has acquired from BASF Quimica Colombiana S.A. the producing and marketing business activities for premixes and base mixes for animal nutrition and its facility located in Bogota, Colombia.

From June 2008, Premex S.A. will be continuing BASF's activities in the Colombian market.

"We are giving continuity to an overall strategy that aims to strengthen our positioning as a supplier of vitamins, enzymes, pigments and organic acids. In Colombia, BASF will continue attending directly the portfolio of raw materials for Animal Nutrition", said Antonio Lacerda, head of South American business for Care Chemicals.

Premex S.A. is a Colombian company dedicated to the development, manufacturing and marketing of animal feed ingredients with six business units (premixes, additives, equines, bovines, trading and consulting) related to the animal nutrition market. Premex also has presence in Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Panama, Guatemala, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, United States, and some Asian Countries.
