HQS generates 4Q revenue from feedmill

HQ Sustainable Maritime Industries (HQS) announced earlier that it began generating revenue from its feedmill operations in the fourth quarter of 2009.

The Seattle-based company, which raises tilapia in China's Hainan province, said it conducted a successful sales outreach to the cooperative farming community.

The company's president and CEO Norbert Sporns said, ''HQS' state-of-the-art feedmill operations provide us with superior, all-natural and vitamin enriched feed, enhancing the quality of the aquaculture biomass produced for our fish and personal healthcare products. We continue to achieve greater supply-chain efficiencies as we execute on our strategic growth initiatives in 2010 and beyond.''

The company expects to announce fourth-quarter and 2009 results in March. HQS' seafood processing and feedmill facilities are ISO 9001 and 22000 certified.
