Incitec Pivot resumes work for new fertiliser plant in Australia
The fertiliser company Incitec Pivot is re-starting work on a new ammonium nitrate plant in Moranbah, central Queensland.
The US$809 million project was delayed in February last year because the global financial downturn affected demand for the fertiliser.
Now, the company said the situation has improved and 90% of the plant's forecast production is committed.
When it is operational in 2012, Incitec Pivot said the plant will be making 330,000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, ammonia and nitric acid a year.
