On September 26, the boosting project for the Se-Ning-Lan Gas Pipeline, launched in May 2005 by PetroChina Pipeline Company, was put into operation. The pipeline starts at the Sebei Gasfield in Qinghai Province and ends at Lanzhou in Gansu Province via Xining, the capital of Qinghai.

Four stations along the pipeline, including the Sebei initial station, are expanded to be gas compressor stations, which have an average altitude of over 3,000 meters. With the completion of the boosting project, designed annual delivery capacity of the pipeline is increased from 2 billion cubic meters to 3.4 billion cubic meters to meet growing industry and civil gas demand in Gansu and Qinghai provinces.
